Well, I spend 12% of our food budget today. Oops.The problem: eating out.
This is exactly what I thought would be the hardest part of the challenge. See, my sis is in town and we had a GNO and went to Cafe Rio. I was hoping that I would have enough stamps for a free meal but I didn't. Oh well.
I'm not discouraged. I know I can still do this. It's just not the way I had intended to start out. But life happens and you have to live it. Here's the rest of the run down. There are two in our family.
Breakfast:
Me: Breakfast in a bowl: cottage cheese, yogurt, agave, cinnamon, frozen blueberries and walnuts and a banana
Hub: kashi cereal with craisins and milk
Lunch: Leftovers from Monday's Two Bean Tamale Pie and Broccoli
Snack: apple & v8 (see I told you I would forget to add some things. that was in the fridge)
Dinner:
Me: Cafe Rio - Tacos (pork and chicken) $8.82
Hub: Homemade Soup: Shirley J Universal Cream Sauce Base, frozen corn, onions, leftover bbq potatoes, garlic
Snack: Granola Bars
Money Spent Today: $12.62
$8.82 at Cafe Rio
$3.80 at Sunflower Market - I was on a work grocery run and decided I needed more yogurt and bell peppers)
New food additions:
* Fat Free Vanilla Yogurt
* 2 Green Bell Peppers
* Frozen Bag of Meatballs I have to test for work (free)
* Bag of Salami I have to test for work (free)
***29 days to go and $87.38 left to spend.***

Good luck! I hope you succeed. I couldn't do it because I get too bored with stuff from my pantry. This must mean that I will truly starve to death if I a) only had $100 a month for food b) swine flu confines me to my home.
